I have three different blogs that I write for. Two of them are just blogs by themselves and the other one which is the one I do the most work on, is connected to a web site. So every time I update my blog, it helps to add fresh content to my web site. Blogging, in case you don't know, is very similar to a diary in reverse. When you post to a blog, the very last thing that you wrote will be the first thing that people see follow by the thing that you wrote before that in the thing that the world before that ad infinitum. Blogs are very well-respected by the search engines because the nature of a blog is the fact that you will be posting new, fresh content to the web site on almost a daily basis.
The other thing that helps a blog is the fact that it is very easy to learn how to post to one depending on which one that you are using. The two top blogging services on the Internet happen to be Google's Blogger and a blogging service called WordPress. Blogger is probably the easiest way one to use because you can easily start building a blog in seconds with this service. Another good thing about blogging is the fact that other people can help you build the blog if it becomes popular by leaving comments on your site. In this manner, it is very much like a social networking system. You can find out more about Blogger or WordPress in the resources section of this course.
One other service that you will absolutely have to have if you are going to put your web pages on the Internet is a Web hosting service. Very briefly, for those of you that are new to Internet marketing, a Web host is a company that stores your web pages on their hard drives so that your web pages can be seen on the Internet. It is absolutely amazing how cheap it is to place a web site on the Internet these days. The price of the last 10 years has dropped dramatically and there are many really fine companies that you can deal with.
My favorite company is a company called HostGator. HostGator is the easiest Web hosting business that I have ever dealt with and by far, the most professional. If you know absolutely nothing about setting up your web pages on the Internet, they have 24-hour chat service that will tell you exactly what to do. They offer very, very inexpensive packages so that you can have your Internet web pages on their hosting service for around six dollars a month. I personally use their nine dollar a month service because with that, I can put as many web sites with their own separate domain names on their hosting service as I want. Anyway, what I would recommend is that you go to HostGator and look at their web site. You might even want to contact them through their chat service or what I did when I initially started working with a HostGator, was I called them up at their 1-800 number and asked them all kinds of questions. They have excellent customer service and I highly recommend this company. However, there are millions of these hosting companies on the Internet and the packages they offer vary greatly in their services and prices.
The reason that I like HostGator so much the because of the customer service that they offer for the price is absolutely fantastic. One other thing I would like to mention about this, and I think is important, is that HostGator also has a system built in with it and its the makes it extremely easy to add forums, blogs and a host of other tools that you'll probably need to use sooner or later if you are to take your online network marketing or multilevel marketing business to the next level. It is just like pushing little buttons and getting results.
If you are going to collect information about people on your web site by having them sign up, then you will need to either subscribe to an online e-mail collection service or you will need a program that can do it for you. Most businesses on the Internet that offer opt-in boxes, offer their services to let you use their auto responders and e-mail collection services. One of the services that I used on the Internet for years is a site called Sendfree. Sendfree has free e-mail collection, free auto responders and a host of other services that you can use for free. The reason that they do this is that later on down the road, if you like your services and you get used to using them, then you will become a paid subscriber to their more elaborate services.
The only drawback to using Sendfree is that it will not allow you to build a squeeze page unless you go with their paid subscription. The other email/auto responder service that I want to turn you on to is Aweber. Aweber is another one of those industry standards that is of the highest quality. With this service, you can set up an opt-in box, collect email address and/or physical addresses, send out newsletters, etc. It is really a phenomenal service that you can easily integrate into any web site. I will talk more about this service in the resources section of this course. Now, being that you are involved in network marketing and multilevel marketing, I'm going to tell you several different ways that you can build your site so that you can start collecting names and e-mail addresses of people interested in your business opportunity.
